AMIR KHAN hosted a speed clinic and took Devon Alexander to school with a convincing 12-round victory in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Khan won by scores of 119-109, 118-110 and 120-108 and then tweeted that he wanted to faceFloyd Mayweather in May.
The Bolton man said he had Alexander figured out from round three and promoter Oscar De La Hoya reckoned Khan, in victory, became one of the sport’s leading lights, alongside Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather.
“We beat him at his own game,” said Khan. “I had to stay smart. Fight at the right time, hit at the right time and I made it easy work. It was still explosive and the crowd was happy. There are big names out there like the Pacquiaos and Mayweathers and that’s where I belong.
“It’s hard work that does it all, focus, dedication and discipline.”
Khan dedicated the victory to his baby daughter.

“I didn’t go looking for the knockout because I know he’s got a good chin and he’s a good boxer but Virgil had so much confidence in the game plan and I just followed that.”
Hunter gave his charge a “9.9 out of 10″grade while Khan looked towards Mayweather.
“Definitely, it’s a fight I’d love to have,” he continued. “I think that would be an amazing fight. I really believe my style will cause Floyd more problems than a Pacquiao style.”
“No excuses,” said Alexander, who skipped the post-fight press conference. “He was the better man tonight.”
